When it comes to boldness, Punk Rock Unicorn (PRU) leads the pack. Dea, the creative force behind PRU, has always embraced vibrant colours and unique inspirations. This year, she’s joined by her new assistant, Sarah, who has quickly become an integral part of the dyeing process.

PRU’s mystery kits are all about making a statement—bold, bright, and full of life. One of the most unusual sources of inspiration for Dea was the tissue her tattoo artist used to wipe down a fresh tattoo. The resulting blend of colours led to the creation of “Dirty Neon,” a colourway that’s as edgy as it is beautiful.

PRU’s favourite dyeing technique involves creating negative speckles, a labor-intensive process that results in fun and dynamic yarns. While they’re not revealing too much, you might just find this technique in this year’s mystery kits!

The PRU dye studio is a vibrant and fun place, where each day begins with music and crafting during breakfast. Even with a full workload, Dea and her team ensure that the studio is a loving and playful environment, where everyone’s personality can shine—especially the shop dogs!
