Our Staff Spotlight for June is Signe! Signe is one of our friendly sales associates who’s always happy to help you pick out your perfect yarn.

What Signe loves most about working at Stephen & Penelope is being surrounded by the various fibres and colours and the amazing people who all share the same passion for crafting and creating as she does. When she was 5 years old Signe was taught to knit by her grandmother, who used to teach knitting techniques as well as embroidery to the people in the area she grew up in. 

At the moment Signe is studying fine art and is busy working on her graduation piece that consists of knitted tapestries and sculptures, exploring the potential of knitting as a medium in art. The project on her needles right now is The Mood Sweater by Spektakelstrik and she has her eye on The Flying Foxtail Wrap from Westknits for her next cast on. When she’s not knitting you can find Signe at the cinema or theatre, or enjoying the glorious sun on the canals with a coffee in hand!
