MKAL 2014 - EXPLORATION STATION

Exploration is one of the most popular Westknits designs to date. The semi-circular pattern has an inviting rhythm to it as you knit with different color combinations and techniques in each section. Four colors dance throughout the fabric as you knit short rows, slip stitches, brioche, eyelets, and simple knits and purls. This was the first Westknits shawl with brioche stitch included in the pattern. Many knitters learned brioche for the first time with this shawl and it has proven to be a great brioche teaching shawl because you only have to knit brioche for one section. You can practice this fascinating technique and then continue on to the other simple stitches. Before you know it, you will have a gorgeous shawl framed with a delightful chevron border.
