MKAL 2022 is coming!

It's almost time for the Westknits Mystery Knit Along and we can't wait to get casting on together very soon! The theme for this year's shawl is Twists & Turns and we are so excited to watch your knits unfold. There will be some more details announced over the next few days on social media but we wanted you to be the first to know. Keep your eyes peeled and your knitting needles poised as we get ready to embark on this wonderful Westknits adventure.

MKAL sign ups and our big kit launch will take place on the 3rd September at 16:00 Amsterdam time, so set your alarms by checking what time that is in your time zone here. We can't wait to have you join us on the 13th annual Westknits MKAL journey!

To ensure you get your hands on the kit of your dreams, don't forget to create an account with us before the launch and to have already added any extra items to your basket prior to 16:00 for a smooth and speedy checkout. If you've got your eye on other individual skeins or handy notions, add those to your cart before the kit launch and when the kits launch at 16:00 add your dream kit to your shopping cart with the rest of your items and checkout. We don't hold stock that's in your basket, so take those steps to guarantee a quicker checkout process. 

What is the MKAL?

MKAL stands for Mystery Knit Along and is a fun, social activity where a group of knitters from all over the world make the same shawl project throughout the month of October. Nobody knows what the final shawl is going to look like and each week a clue is revealed, so you get to watch your shawl grow and evolve one step at a time. The mystery element makes the knit a long that extra bit more exciting! This is the time to learn something new with Stephen's steady hand guiding you through the MKAL journey with step by step video tutorials and playful design elements.
